The parents of a man killed in a bomb blast on a Baghdad hotel, have paid tribute to their son.

Scott Mounce, 29, of Hedon, East Yorkshire, died in the terror attack on the Mount Lebanon Hotel, which killed at least six other people on 17 March.

In a statement, his parents, Steven and Erika, described their son as a kind, considerate and popular young man.

"We cannot begin to imagine what our lives will be like without Scott," they said. "We loved him so much."

They said Mr Mounce was a keen footballer who gained "immense satisfaction" from teaching youngsters during the time he spent at Hull City AFC.

After leaving school, he attended college before starting work as a car sales executive.

But two years ago he left to pursue a career in business.

He had been working in Iraq for an unnamed Italian communications company when he died.

Affectionate and caring

"This has been the most difficult period that our family has ever had to deal with," his parents said.

"We are close as a family and we have worked hard at supporting each other and we are coping - just.

"Scott was an affectionate and caring young man who loved his family, loved his girlfriend and loved his friends.

"He loved life and lived it to the full. He will be in all of our thoughts every hour of every day."

Mr Mounce's funeral is due to be held in Hull on Monday.
