Police generic
A man has been charged with the manslaughter of a Powys workman who died after falling 30 feet off a mobile platform.

Mark Jones, 41, from Knighton, was working on a farm building in Stourbridge, West Midlands, when he fell.

A 34-year-old man, from the Ludlow area of Shropshire, has been charged with unlawful killing and a number of Health and Safety Executive offences.

He will appear in court in Cannock on 25 August.

A second man arrested in connection with the incident has been released without charge, said Staffordshire Police.

Mr Jones was airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital, in Birmingham, after the incident in February but later died.

A second worker was also slightly hurt when the truck supporting the mobile platform apparently overturned.

The incident was jointly investigated by the Health and Safety Executive and Staffordshire Police.
