Buskers record underground sounds
Songs From The Underground album cover
The album will be released next month
An album of songs recorded by buskers on the London Underground is to be released next month.

Songs From The Underground: The Buskers features cover versions of songs such as Babylon, Stuck In The Middle With You, Perfect Day and Waterloo Sunset.

Busking on the capital's Tube network was made legal last year, with musicians having to apply for licences to perform in stations.
HAVE YOUR SAY
I think that buskers are great and provide much needed entertainment on a normally dreary journey

The album is set to be released on 6 September by Virgin/EMI.

It will follow on from an episode of the South Bank Show featuring some of the artists found on the double CD.

Street Music Stories, which will be broadcast on ITV1 on Sunday evening, follows the stories of four buskers who perform across London.

One of them, Hadar Manor, uses the Tube to showcase her original material and has been approached by record companies.

She joined the London Underground scheme when it began in May last year.
