Police property auctioned on web

Lost property and valuables recovered during police raids, but remaining unclaimed are to go up for auction on the internet.

Items from electric toothbrushes to cars can now be seen on Hertfordshire Police's bumblebeeauctions.co.uk site.

The site will be used initially to auction off property from the Welwyn, Hatfield and Hertsmere areas, but it is open to anyone from anywhere.

The facility works like other internet auction web sites.
