Hunt for man after fatal stabbing
Mark Parker

An 18-year-old man wanted for questioning in connection with a fatal stabbing in London is believed to be in hiding on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent.

Mark Parker has been on the run since 18-year-old Stephen Carrigan-Cole was stabbed to death in Lewisham with a two-pronged carving fork on 17 July.

Metropolitan Police are distributing leaflets, posters and beer mats across the island in an attempt to find him.

He is described as white, 5ft 7in tall, with close-cropped light brown hair.

Mr Parker also has blue eyes, a pierced left ear and a scar on the underside of his right forearm.

Det Ch Insp Jill Bailey said she was hopeful people would respond to the campaign.

Stab wounds

"The good thing about beer mats is that they are small, so people who don't want to be seen taking notice of a poster can slip them in their pockets and take them home," she said.

Det Ch Insp Bailey described Mr Parker as violent and said he should not be approached.

Instead, she urged anyone who recognised him to call 999 or contact their local police station.

Mr Carrigan-Cole died in hospital after being found with stab wounds near the Coach and Horses pub off Lewisham High Street at 0100 BST on 17 July.

Police said a 21-year-old man had been charged in connection with his death, while another had been bailed pending further inquiries.
