A murder investigation has begun after a man was stabbed in Derby.
Police were called to a property in Industrial Street in Normanton at 0900 GMT on Friday where they found a body.
The 20-year-old man came to Britain from Iraq in 2002, say police, but they are not currently treating it as a racially motivated attack.
A post mortem examination has shown that he died from a single stab wound but was also subjected to a "severe and sustained" attack.
Detectives say the man had lived and worked in the Derby area for a number of months.
They are keen to trace anyone who has visited the house in Industrial Street over the last few weeks.
They will be continuing with forensic examinations at the property, and house to house enquiries in the area.
