Fire crews had to rescue two people in separate incidents overnight in the same area of Nottinghamshire.
They were called to Hawthorne Avenue in Hucknall at just before 2100 GMT on Friday, where they rescued a woman who had been overcome by smoke.
At around 0130 GMT on Saturday, firefighters forced their way into a flat on Goodall Crescent.
Inside they rescued a young male who was found to be suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
Unusual situation
Both victims were taken to the Queens Medical Centre.
Sub-Officer Paul Nesbitt, who attended both incidents, said: "The first incident is being investigated by police .
"The second one was a grill pan being left unattended when the occupant fell asleep.
"It is quite unusual to have two rescues in one night but that is what we are paid to do and what we are prepared for."
