A choral tribute is being held in Eastbourne in memory of the victims of the World Trade Center attacks.
Tony Webster decided to hold the event because his son-in-law Jim died in the 11 September terror attacks in 2001.
Mr Webster belongs to the Counterpoint Chamber Choir which will perform Dvorak's Requiem at the concert at St Saviour's Church on Saturday.
The performance will take place on his granddaughter's second birthday who was born after her father died.
She now lives in Florida with her mother and sister.
Mr Webster said: "Our concert will honour all those who died as a result of terrorist action.
"But I will, of course, be thinking especially of Jim and his family in America."
All money raised from the concert will go to charities associated with helping people affected by terrorist attacks.
Part of the 35 piece orchestra playing in the concert will be the Jubilate Brass which perform at Canterbury Cathedral.
