Hundreds expected at Mela event
A range of health facilities in Preston are on show to the public on Saturday.

The third annual Preston Health Mela is aimed at the Asian community, which suffers from a high level of coronary heart disease and a poor diet.

The Mela - a regular Asian lifestyle event - aims to tackle this through increased education and knowledge of the facilities available.

The Mela organisers hope people from all walks of life will visit the event and learn more about Asian culture.

Research has shown that Asian communities are up to three times more likely to develop diabetes and heart disease compared to white people.
