Youth attacked by phone muggers

A 17-year-old youth was repeatedly hit and kicked in the head by two men who stole his mobile telephone.

The victim was walking on the Silkin Way in Telford when the attack happened just before 0900 BST on Monday.

West Mercia Police said one offender hit him to the ground and took his phone, cash and cigarettes, while the other man punched and kicked him.

The pair, who are described as white and in their mid-20s, then escaped in the direction of Telford Town Park.

One of the muggers had blonde hair and was wearing a white baseball cap, blue jeans and a dark top.

The other had dark hair and was wearing a black top and jeans.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
