Two in hospital as cars collide
Two men are in hospital - one of them in a critical condition - after two cars crashed in Wigan.

A 67-year-old man was driving a Micra saloon along the A49 Wigan Road near Standish when he collided with a Honda.

He is said to be critical in intensive care at Wigan Royal Infirmary. The other driver, who is 31, is described as comfortable.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened just after 1800 GMT on Friday.
