Driver dies as bus hits bungalow
A bus driver was killed and seven passengers were injured when a double decker bus crashed into a bungalow.

The elderly occupants of the property, both 78, were said to be shaken but unhurt in the crash off Walker Street, Hull, at about 1900 GMT on Friday.

The injured passengers were taken to Hull Royal Infirmary and treated for cuts and bruises, police said.

The driver, Maurizio Rotella, 54, from Hull, later died from his injuries. The cause of the crash is unknown.

Gable end damaged

There were just 12 passengers on board the bus when it ploughed into the property.

The gable end of the house in Thornwick Close was destroyed in the impact.

The bus had been travelling towards Rawlings Way, away from the city centre.

The area was sealed off while emergency services dealt with the injured.
