Deaths in Nigerian cult clashes
Anti-cult sign
Cults are a big problem in many Nigerian universities
At least 18 students have been killed in clashes between rival student gangs in south-eastern Nigeria.

Double-barrelled shotguns, machetes and iron bars have been used in two weeks of fighting at two campuses in Enugu state, police said.

Several arrests were made and the clashes between the Black Axe, Vikings and Black Beret gangs were now over, they said.

Hundreds of Nigerians are killed or injured every year by rival student gangs, correspondents say.
