Elderly woman hurt in house fire
An elderly woman suffered burns when a fire swept through her Bristol home.

The 84-year-old managed to get out of the house, but burned her hand and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Avon Fire Brigade was called to the house in Forest Walk, Pillingers Road, Kingswood at 1523 GMT on Friday after a fire broke out in the kitchen.

Fire crews put the flames out, but the fire - thought to have been caused by cooking which had been left unattended - caused serious damage to the house.
