Police plea to pub's customers
Northern Police HQ
Detectives say it is 'vital' for witnesses to come forward
Police have launched a search for a group of drinkers who, they believe, may have seen an alleged serious attack on a woman at a city night spot.

The woman, 50 - who is in a critical condition in hospital - was apparently attacked outside an Inverness pub in the early hours of Sunday.

Police investigating what happened outside the Johnny Foxes pub have taken a man into custody.

Detectives have been examining CCTV footage taken outside the pub.

'Extremely serious'

Investigators said they were looking for three young men dressed in dark clothing, who were seen walking into the pub.

A Northern Constabulary spokesman said it was "vital" for any witnesses to come forward.

He described what happened to the victim as 'extremely serious'.
