Woman injured in police car crash
A woman is in hospital after the car she driving was involved in an accident with a police car in Cumbria.

The incident happened at 1355 GMT on Friday at Hoff Lunn on the B6260 Appleby to Tebay road.

The Penrith woman, driving a Fiat Punto, was taken by ambulance to the Cumberland Infirmary suffering from injuries to her chest and leg.

The male police officer, who was driving a Ford Maverick, was treated at hospital for minor injuries.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said their car was not on the way to an emergency at the time.
