A suspected cannabis factory was uncovered by police when they carried out a search of a house in Surrey.

Officers found dozens of plants when they searched the house in Bunyard Drive, Sheerwater, on Monday morning.

Four people were arrested after the discovery and were later released on police bail.

Surrey Police said they were following new national guidelines over cannabis possession after its reclassification from a class B to a class C drug.

Supt Mick Day said: "Cultivation of cannabis remains a criminal offence and our message remains unchanged, we will not hesitate to arrest and prosecute when necessary."
