Doomed school marks anniversary
Pupils at Wiltshire's smallest school are gathering to celebrate its 150th anniversary just days before it closes for good.

St Mary's School at Steeple Ashton near Trowbridge has just eight pupils, and the county council has decided it will close at the end of term.

The children will transfer to schools in Semington, Hilperton and Keevil.

But on Saturday, there will be a celebration of the school's past with visits from former pupils.

A display of school memorabilia and photographs has been put together to mark the anniversary.

Low pupils numbers and a bad Ofsted report were among the reasons Wiltshire County Council decided to shut the school.
