Man attacked by gang of burglars
A Kent man is recovering in hospital after being injured by a gang of burglars who barged into his home and beat him with a cricket bat.

The 48-year-old man was at home in City Way, Rochester, when six men entered the property at 2250 BST on Monday.

The offenders - who are described by police as being of Indian or Asian origin - are believed to be from the Gravesend area.

After the burglary, the gang drove away in a dark coloured Vauxhall Vectra.

Kent Police said the injured man was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with a suspected broken arm.

His 47-year-old wife was also in the house at the time of the burglary and received minor injuries.
