Horse loses eye after gun attack
BB gun
The horse had an eye removed after it was shot with a BB gun
A horse had to have one of its eyes removed after a group of teenagers shot it with a ball bearing (BB) gun.

The grey gelding was in a field in Sackenden Lane in Otford, near Sevenoaks, Kent, when it was injured.

The group of four boys shot at the animal on 8 August, after they were warned to stay away by a woman who was looking after it for its owner.

The youths - who were aged between 12 and 14 - also shot at the woman, who suffered slight injuries in the attack.

'Cruel attack'

The RSPCA has launched an investigation into the incident.

It has also warned horse owners in the area about the risk of further attacks.

RSPCA inspector Charlotte Baumann said: "It seems these youngsters shot the pony and the person looking after him just because they were there and had a gun.

"They could face criminal proceedings for this unprovoked and cruel attack."
