Islam

Is Islamic extremism so bound up with its faith that we are at last seeing its true character?"

That was the question posed by the former Archbishop of Canterbury, George Carey. His speech inevitably provoked an outcry despite his protestations that he was only posing questions not statements of belief.

We asked whether high profile criticism of Islam is acceptable post-9/11 and whether it'll damage rather than help race relations.

We also spoke to :
HRH Prince Hassan of Jordan, Crown Prince, 1965 - 1999

Drug users

And is the Government's high profile attempt to rehabilitate convicted drug users failing? We learnt that eight out of ten offenders handed a "drug testing and treatment order" are reconvicted within two years.
