Gas leak fear forces evacuation
Gas incident
Residents returned to their homes at around 2300 BST
Around 20 people were forced out of their houses on Monday night, amid fears of a gas leak in a north Wales village.

The incident happened at Llanrhaeadr between Denbigh and Ruthin, after a car hit a major gas main.

Fire officers were called to the scene following the accident on the A525, and the road was shut.

The people waited outside before being allowed to return home at around 2300 BST.

"Around 40 people were informed," said Phil Edd from North Wales Fire Service.

"Of those, about 20 were asked to leave their houses, and stand by the fire engine, about a third of a mile away in case the problem with the gas main escalated."
