Charges after 'trouble' at wake
Eleven people were arrested following an alleged disturbance at a wake held in Kidderminster.

Eight men and three women were arrested after police were called to the Briars pub on Wednesday.

Seven were charged with various offences relating to the incident which allegedly happened between 2200 GMT and 0100 GMT on Thursday.

The wake followed the funeral of 16-year-old Gavin Connelly who was killed after he was thrown from a stolen car.

The teenager from Jubilee Drive, Kidderminster, died shortly after the crash on the A456 Callow Hill near Bewdley at 1745 GMT on 12 March.

Two men were arrested and questioned by police following the crash.

Police said on Friday the charges following the wake were for a variety of offences including assaulting a police officer, obstructing a police officer, drunk and disorderly.

Two people were also cautioned for drunk and disorderly and threats to a police officer.

Another two were released on police bail pending further inquiries for obstructing a police officer and a public order offence.
