A body found in south-east Asia has been confirmed as that of a missing Norfolk woman who was swept away by a river earlier this week.
Mia-Lucy Rose, 24, from Gorleston was swimming in the country of Laos on Tuesday when she got carried away in the rapid current.
She left Norfolk to travel around the world last October and had met a man from Northampton called Martin Ward.
The pair had planned a four week visit to Laos, Burma and Thailand.
Parents helped search
They were crossing part of the Mekong river on Tuesday when Ms Rose lost her footing and was swept away by the strong currents.
Her parents flew to south-east Asia to help with the search operation.
However, a body was found on Friday morning and the International Rescue Corps, which was due to send a four-man team there armed with search equipment, was stood down.
Norfolk Police were in contact with authorities in Laos and on Friday they confirmed the body is that of Ms Rose.
