Champion boxer stabbed to death
Former International Boxing Federation super flyweight champion Robert Quiroga has been stabbed to death in San Antonio, Texas.

Police said Quiroga was found lying next to his car at a crossroads in his hometown at about 0400 local time (0900 GMT) on Monday.

Investigators have not yet established a motive or identified any suspects for the killing.

Quiroga held the IBF title from 1990 to 1993, and retired two years later.

Quiroga, who was 35, had been drinking with friends at a bar three blocks away hours before he was killed.

Police spokesman Sgt Gabe Trevino said officers were called to the crime scene by a member of the public who found Quiroga's body, San Antonio WOAI news reported.
