Police called to change battery
Police on the beat
The elderly woman promised the police officers a kiss
Police officers went to the rescue of a 90-year-old woman by changing the battery in her TV remote control and mending her faulty fire.

The Eastbourne resident found officers at her door as part of house-to-house inquiries during a burglary inquiry.

Sussex Police said the elderly woman told officers she could not help with the investigation, but asked for assistance with a couple of odd jobs.

She said she wanted to watch television in the warm - and promised them a kiss.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said "it was nice to be appreciated" and that they were happy to help.
