Paramedic 'kissed ill diabetic'
An ambulance medic indecently assaulted a diabetic woman as she recovered from a low sugar attack, a court has heard.

David Tranah, of Coldharbour Close, Crowborough, was caught kneeling over the woman and kissing her by assistant medic Jill Hopgood, the court was told.

The 46-year-old Sussex Ambulance Service worker allegedly asked his assistant to fetch medical equipment from the ambulance before the incident.

Lewes Crown Court was told he denies assaulting the woman in Eastbourne.

The alleged assault happened after the 64-year-old woman was treated for a hypoglycaemic attack in which blood sugar levels fall to dangerous levels.

When interviewed by police Mr Tranah said his face was close to the woman's because he was checking her pupils with a torch.

The case continues.
