West Yorkshire police officers will be squaring up to former Leeds United players in a match to raise money in memory of a murdered colleague.
Pc Ian Broadhurst, 34, was shot while attempting to arrest a man in Leeds on Boxing Day.
Officers in his force have now organised the clash of the Titans to raise money for the Pc's memorial fund.
Event organiser Pc Kev Burns said: "We just wanted to do our part to show Ian's family that we care."
The Leeds United team so far includes David Batty, Lee Sharp, Tommy Wright and John Hendry.
Watching the game on Sunday, 29 August at Garforth Football Club will be Chief Constable Colin Cramphorn.
Killingbeck Divisional Commander Ch Supt Elizabeth Preece said her team had been overwhelmed with support from everyone following the tragedy.
And she thanked Leeds United for their enthusiasm in the charity event.
"This day will be a happy commemorative event and, as a Manchester United fan, I truly look forward to West Yorkshire Police defeating the pros," she said.
