Evacuation after chemical blaze
Homes and businesses have been evacuated after a fire broke out at a chemical factory.

Firefighters were called to Contract Chemicals at Knowsley Business Park, Merseyside, at 1225 BST.

About 100 firefighers tackled the blaze at its height. The fire service says it has been brought under control.

The area was evacuated and the A580 is closed eastbound at Moorgate Lane and westbound at Catchdale Moss Lane due to a white cloud seen over the building.

Penrhyn Road has also been closed from its junction with School Lane.
