'Cruel' mugger targets blind man
A 25-year-old man, blind from birth, was targeted by a mugger in what police describe as a 'cruel' attack.

The victim got lost around 0020 BST on Monday as he was walking along Borough Road in Middlesbrough.

Cleveland Police say a woman approached him and said she would help him find the bus station, but as they turned into Union Street she mugged him.

The woman then tried to push him to the ground before running off with a small amount of cash and his white stick.

Police say the attack happened near St Paul's Hostel and they are appealing for witnesses.

The victim was shaken by his ordeal, but uninjured.
