'Alcohol-fuelled' killer jailed
A 28-year-old who beat a man with a roll of wallpaper before stabbing him has been jailed for life for murder.

Rikki Stewart, of Corby, Northants, admitted murdering Philip Michael Haselip, 52, at his home - also in the town - on 18 November 2003.

The prosecution described the act as "entirely inexplicable" other than as an "alcohol-fuelled rage".

Jailing Stewart on Monday, the judge at Northampton Crown Court recommended he should serve at least nine years.
