A man has been charged with grievous bodily harm after an assault in Bristol.
Police sealed off Dean Lane in Bedminster after the attack on Sunday.
Two men were arrested, one of whom has since been released without charge.
A 41-year-old man appeared before Bristol magistrates on Wednesday.
The assault victim sustained head injuries during the incident, but is "stable and improving", a police spokeswoman said.
