Firefighters have rescued a man who was found unconscious on the floor at a house in Nelson, Lancashire.
Fire crews were called to the blaze at Chapel House Road just after 0520 BST on Monday.
The man, who was found on the living room floor, was taken to hospital suffering from breathing difficulties.
Sub-officer Neil Hardyman said another resident had fled the property when the smoke detector went off but the rescued man was overcome by smoke.
