Police name 'arrest death' man
A man who died in hospital after being arrested by police has been named.

Anthony Wall, 59 and known as 'Ric', from the Welshback area of Bristol, died in Frenchay Hospital on 13 July.

His death is being investigated by Gloucestershire Police for the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

Officers were called to a boat in Welshback on 25 June where Mr Wall was arrested, and taken to hospital after being examined by a force surgeon.

'Robust investigation'

He died just before midnight on 13 July.

The IPCC inquiry is appealing for witnesses to the incident and arrest, which occurred on the night of the England and Portugal Euro 2004 match.

Rebecca Marsh, IPCC Commissioner for Wales and the South West, said: "I have met with Mr Wall's family to explain how our investigation will be carried out and what issues it will look at.

"I will make sure there is a thorough and robust investigation into Mr Wall's death and that his family are kept fully updated."
