The Home Office has failed for a second time to overturn a decision giving a former government minister from Equador asylum to continue living in England.
Captain Rogelio Viteri was granted asylum in 2003 - but the Home Office had gone to the High court to appeal against the decision for a second time.
This second appeal has now been rejected, allowing him to remain in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.
The Home Office has two weeks to decide whether to appeal for a third time.
The MP for Harborough, Edward Garnier, has been supporting the family and welcomed the news, saying the High Court had made the right decision.
