Women hurt after falling from car
A woman is critically ill in hospital after falling out of a car during a fun day at a Greater Manchester pub.

The accident happened when a number of people piled into a pink Volkswagen Passat, in the car park of the Royal Oak pub in Shaw at 1800 BST on Sunday.

The car was taking members of a band from the pub to an entertainment stage when two women fell out.

A 41-year-old was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after an accident and suspicion of drink driving.

A 40-year-old woman from Hollins was said to be critically ill on Monday and a 31-year-old from Shaw suffered cuts to her head and bruising.

Both were taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital.

Police say the driver left the scene and the car, which had part of its roof cut away, was left in the pub car park.

The man who was arrested is from Royton.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the accident to get in touch.
