Canal man death 'not suspicious'

Police say they are not treating as suspicious the death of a man whose body was found in the Erewash Canal in Derbyshire.

A passer-by made the discovery in Long Eaton on Thursday morning.

The man has yet to be identified and police are now awaiting the results of a post mortem examination.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have been near the Derby Road area of Long Eaton on Wednesday afternoon to come forward.
