Man's body sparks murder probe
The discovery of a man's body in woods has prompted a murder investigation.

The unnamed man was found near Brassey Street, Ruchill, Glasgow, on Friday and police have appealed for people in the area two weeks ago to come forward.

Detective Inspector John Weir, the officer leading the inquiry, said: "Following a post-mortem yesterday we are treating his death as murder."

He urged anyone in the park area of Ruchill Golf Course on the afternoon of Monday 2 August to contact police.

DCI Weir said: "At this stage we have not formally identified the man involved or established how he came about his injuries.

'Appeal to locals'

"However, following a post-mortem on Saturday we are treating his death as murder.

"I would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Brassey Street near to Curry Street or indeed anyone who was within the park area known as Ruchill Golf Course between 2.30pm and 4pm on Monday August 2."

Anyone with information can contact the Incident Room at Maryhill Police Office on 0141 532 3700.
