New MS information centre opens

People can call in for a chat or pre-book a one-to-one meeting

A new information centre offering advice to people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) has opened at Bristol's General Hospital.

The MS research team at the hospital says it is "delighted" with the Bristol MS Society's service, as its own information centre has been suspended.

Volunteers will be there every Monday from 1100 to 1500 GMT. Additional days will be added as demand increases.

A comprehensive range of MS literature will also be available from the centre.

Dr Jones, from the MS research unit at the hospital, said. "We are delighted to be working alongside the MS Society's Bristol branch.

"We will each maintain our independence and carry out our own work but look forward to sharing ideas and resources to help improve all aspects of life for those with MS."

The centre is open to everyone affected by MS including family, carers and professionals.

"People can call in for a chat and a coffee or pre-book a one-to-one meeting for a private discussion," said Martin Law, acting chairman of the branch.
