Seagrass in spotlight

Seagrass around Jersey's coast is to be mapped by computer.

The States is being advised by former PhD student Emma Jackson.

She has studied seagrass around the island since 1999.

She says the seagrass is in a generally good condition but will need protection to maintain the current standard.


Police investigate alleged assault

Jersey Police want to speak to anyone who was in the Parade area of St Helier on Wednesday evening after a woman was allegedly assaulted by a man who indecently exposed himself.

The police say the incident happened near the Adelphi pub at about 2030 GMT.

It is thought she was followed from Charing Cross.

She is described as blonde and wearing a beige three-quarter length jacket and dark trousers. They want to speak to two young girls who may have seen her at Charing Cross.


Stained glass window damaged

Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been caused to a stained glass window at St Ouen's Parish Hall in Jersey.

The window dates back to when the parish hall was built in 1852.

It depicts a religious scene and the names of many of the Constables.

Two of the panels measuring 6 ft by 2 ft 6 in will need to be replaced.


Fog affects flights

Flights to and from Jersey are were disrupted by thick fog travel on Wednesday morning.

The Met Office said it was drifting around Jersey's coasts.

A Thompson Fly flight was forced to return to Coventry and others were diverted to Guernsey.

The airport said flights resumed their normal schedules later.
