Closure of island commuter route

There will be a three-year embargo when resurfacing is complete
Drivers in Guernsey face lengthy delays as one of the island's main commuter routes shuts for 10 weeks.

Ruette Braye is being closed to allow the installation of essential services.

Guernsey Electricity, Cable and Wireless and Guernsey Water are installing services for new a housing development in the island.

Work will also be carried out on the footpath and to improve surface water drainage. When work is complete, the road will be resurfaced.

The Environment Department says the road will be subject to a three-year embargo once the resurfacing is complete.

The means only emergency work will be allowed on the road once the commuter route re-opens at the end of October.
