£20,000 'speed cushions' for road
Speed humps
Local people say they want the speed cushions introduced
Speed-cutting measures along a road in Gloucestershire are to be introduced at a cost of £20,000.

Campaigners in Newent have long argued speeds on Foley Road should be reduced.

More than 70% of people responding to a county council questionnaire said traffic was travelling too quickly along the 1km stretch.

Residents living along the road also endorsed the plan for "speed cushions" to be used to reduce the number of speeding drivers.

Gloucestershire County Council sent out 350 questionnaires and 149 households gave their feedback.

It says the relatively high response rate reflects the serious concerns of local people.
