House raffle extended one month

Angela Brown is selling the house to move to France
A couple who are raffling their Kent home have given prospective winners another month to enter.

Angela Brown and Andrew Jewitt are selling tickets for £5 on the internet for the chance to win their converted oast house in Chilham, near Canterbury.

The raffle has been extended by a month as the £270,000 reserve price has not yet been met.

Mrs Brown said the couple had so far raised between £50,000 and £60,000 in ticket sales.

Moving to France

"It hasn't reached the reserve price so we will see how it goes next month," she said.

"The idea was that the raffle would have happened after we raised £270,000."

Mrs Brown is trying to sell her turn-of-the-century house because she is moving to France.

Tickets cost £5 each and if the reserve price is not met, the winner will get all the money collected minus 10%.

To meet licensing laws, entrants have to answer a multiple choice question before being entered into the draw.

A website has been set up so people can enter the draw.
