Jewellery dating back to the 7th Century will arrive at the Corinium Museum in Gloucestershire on Monday.
The four gold pendants came from an Anglo-Saxon cemetery uncovered during a dig in Lechlade in 1985.
A Roman re-enactment group, the Ermine Street Guard, will accompany the jewellery on its journey from Lloyds Bank in Cirencester to the museum.
The artefacts were discovered buried with four bodies during the excavation of 200 graves at Butler's Field.
The museum is being redeveloped and is due to reopen to the public on 15 September.
The revamp has been funded by a £2.75m lottery grant.
