Coastguards rescued two men in a 37-foot cruiser after the skipper collapsed on board.
Yarmouth Coastguard received a call from the Dooby Soo, which was eight miles off the coast of Cromer, at 0751 BST on Sunday.
The caller said the skipper collapsed while trying to raise the anchor and a large vessel was approaching.
A doctor accompanied the Cromer lifeboat crew to the scene and the skipper was airlifted to hospital.
Colin White, Yarmouth Coastguard Watch Manager, said: "We immediately attracted the attention of the large vessel in the area, so they were aware of the motor cruiser anchored."
He said the skipper was taken to RAF Wattisham by rescue helicopter before being transferred to the James Paget Hospital.
The man who had called for medical help was taken back to Yarmouth harbour.
Mr White warned the public about windy conditions off the coast.
He said: "Inflatables and offshore winds are extremely dangerous and we would advise you to not use them
in these conditions."
