The dress will be a tent, housing educational displays
People in Jersey who are nimble with a needle are being asked to help make the biggest dress in the world.

The Christian charity Speak wants people to send them individually designed squares which they will then sew together.

The charity is hoping the unusual idea will draw attention to the issue of international fair trade.

Hannah Housman from Speak believes it will make the point forcefully, but in an entertaining and informative way.

She said: "It's going to be about 14m high and about 20m wide at the bottom and will be constructed as a big tent, so people will be able to go inside.

"They can look at the squares and there will be educational displays to inform people more of the issues surrounding injustice in trade."
