Appeal to public over park name
Councillors are appealing to the public to come up with a name for a new park in Sutton Coldfield.

Plans have been finalised for the scheme at Withy Hill and work is due to start in January.

The existing recreation ground at the site would be doubled as part of the development.

Birmingham City Council will approach residents through its Sutton district committee to get their views about a name for the park.

It will include a children's play area and several nature walks.

The park will provide extra open space for people living in new private housing at the former St George's barracks site nearby.

Councillors hope to have decided on a name before work starts.
