Scheme to tackle dog waste damage
Dog being walked - generic
The project is being supported by vets, schools and health groups
The damage being done by dog waste at some of Cornwall's best known visitor sites is being tackled.

Areas targeted by a new campaign include Kit Hill Country Park, the Camel Trail and Bodmin Beacon.

Project staff will distribute promotional material to dog walkers and others at the entrance to the sites.

The scheme, backed by Cornwall County Council and North Cornwall District Council, will focus on the health impacts of dog fouling.

The scheme will also cover a broader range of issues including the environmental impact on plants and the area's wildlife.

The project team has received help and support from veterinary groups, the local health service and local schools.
