Former MP gets Gibraltar freedom
The former MP for Warrington is to be awarded the freedom of Gibraltar at a ceremony next month.

Lord Hoyle has been selected for the honour after his work to promote the self determination of Gibraltarians.

He said he feels proud to be selected for the freedom of the territory, especially as the most recent award of the honour went to the Royal Navy.

Among other privileges, Lord Hoyle will have permission to herd animals on the Gibraltar highways.

Lord Hoyle led a delegation of MPs and MEPs to Gibraltar last year to mark the rock's national day.
