New plaque planned for war dead
Scunthorpe's roll of honour plaque, which lists people who died serving their country, is to be updated.

North Lincolnshire Council is appealing to residents to get in touch if they know of any other names which should be added to it.

The original roll was put up in 1933 close to the town's war memorial in Oswald Road.

Councillors want to include those who died in conflicts other than the two world wars.

Those who died in the Korean War, Palestine 1936 and the Falklands Conflict are also currently included in the roll of honour.

Councillor Alan Holgate said: "The roll of honour plaque is a key part of Scunthorpe's history and a tribute to those who lost their lives.

"Men and women who lost their lives while serving their country need to be remembered, so I would urge relatives to get in touch with us."
